50 Bucks a Pound!?

It is Morel season and for the past three weeks I have been on the hunt. From the blue mountains to white pass, we have been covering the grounds. It wasn't until I was grocery shopping a few days ago that I discovered I had actually been searching for GOLD. Or so they would have me believe at least...

This was the first time I had ever seen Morels for sale in a grocery store. When I saw the price my jaw dropped! I then realized I might be in the wrong business.

$49.99 a pound! I thought maybe they had accidently thrown in an extra nine but NOPE... that is the price of Morels.

What is it about the price that suddenly makes a mushroom taste so much better? Don't get me wrong, I love me some shrooms but now I feel like a rich spoiled brat eating my delicacy.
