6 Delicious Reasons to Drive to Spokane for Dinner

A national article from the Wall Street Journal was listing off surprising cities to find great restaurants and Spokane Washington was on the list. It was unexpected to see Spokane on the list because I was born there, but have never heard of these restaurants.

Spokane is close so if you are looking for a little stay-cation, take the 2 hour drive and check these restaurants out!

Durkin’s Liquor Bar
Yes, it is a bar with draft beer and liquor but that is not their specialty. They specialize in meat-to-die-for like in-house made bacon or bone in pork chops. A must stop if your carnivorous.

Italia Trattoria
A great itlaian restaurant that changes up its menu of pasta and unusual meats. They also use mostly fresh produce from local farm communities.

Described as "a global, fun-food menu filled with fatty, inexpensive and artfully wrought little dishes", you will find something you like for the price you want.

A true southern style kitchen complete with buttermilk fried chicken! They also use local produce and have a large and creative cocktail menu.

A French restaurant that is decribed as "Classic French fare like foie gras torchon and duck confit collide with some contemporary American dishes. But the room is bistro all the way."

They started out as a vegetarian restaurant, but now also serve meat. However it is not just any meat, they carry meat like organic chicken and elk sirloin.
