Bateman Island Fire 100% Controlled, BUT…

The fire that scorched 70 acres on Bateman Island is now "100% controlled."

Various departments have been assisting in the firefight including Benton County, Franklin County, and Hanford Fire.

UPDATE: Fire officials say the fire was likely caused by people, as there was no lightning. The fire has now scorched 2/3 of the island, over 100 acres. Bateman Island will now be closed indefinitely.
