When I was a kid, convincing my parents to go to this store was one of my favorite things to do. I thought my kids would not have that same experience after that store almost completely closed in 2021. Now they are returning by mid October to a Macy's near you according to reports! Yes, if you can't tell I am talking about the past king of toy stores, Toys-R-Us!

Toys-R-Us is returning in a partnership with Macy's, giving the past toy giant 1,000 to 10,000 square feet of dedicated space with the ability to expand if needed. Toys-R-Us will be greatly improved with lots of extras not seen before in their stores like hands-on demonstration tables for toys and a life sized Geoffrey the Giraffe for family pictures according to reports.

The return definitely has to do with the explosion of toys popularity during the pandemic, growing from 22 million to 29 million in sales per year from 2019 according to a NPD Group study. The New York based group that bought the Toys-R-Us brand in 2021 says they specialize in brands and that Toys-R-Us "is the single most credible, trusted and beloved toy brand in the world."

The stores are scheduled to open October 15, hosting 9 days of special events with lots of giveaways and family events including popular brands like Lego and Barbie. I personally can't wait to go make more lasting memories with my kids, while they still are kids. Remember the great song we used to sing to in every commercial while dreaming of that special toy you wanted? Now my kids can sing it too!

"I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.
They got a million toys at Toys R us that I can play with.
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.
They got the best for so much less, it'll really flip your lid.
From bikes to trains to video games,
it's the biggest toy store there is. (gee whiz!)
I don't wanna grow up, cause baby if I did,
I couldn't be a Toys R Us kid.
More games, more toys, oh boy!
I wanna be a Toys R Us kid"
