Coyote Spotted in Benton City Backyard
Keep your pets indoors, Benton City!
If you live in the lower Yakima Valley you're no stranger to coyotes (pronounced with two syllables).
They're not as dangerous as wolves and mountain lions, but they are more daring.
They'll pick off your cats and small dogs. They're known to lure your larger dog into the hills where they'll attack as a pack. And attacks on very small toddlers is not unheard of.
A Benton City resident reported seeing one leave a backyard. If coyotes are in backyards it means they're not afraid of humans and could be especially dangerous.
