Dumb Criminal in Moses Lake: Too Drunk to Pump Gas, Car Thief Passes Out

Salvador Chavez had a warrant out for his arrest, meth in his possession, was drunk behind the wheel in a stolen car without a license and had the cops looking for him for trespassing. Then he did the absolute dumbest thing possible.

He fell asleep.

Early last Thursday police found Chavez passed out in a car reported stolen in Mattawa hours before. The Moses Lake gas station attendant called police because he'd been sitting at a gas pump for an hour without doing anything. When asked to leave he refused.

He's now in Grant County jail on four counts and an outstanding warrant.
