The South Columbia Basin Irrigation District plans to shut down water in Oct.

    Date set for water shutoff

Any customers who utilize the water from the District will see it turn off on Oct. 24th.

The District made this announcement for customers (as of Thursday August 11):

"The final day to order water delivery changes will be Friday, October 21. On Monday, October 24, ditchriders will close all farm unit and water service contract turnouts as they begin to drain the canal system."

Ditchrider service will stop on Saturdays after September 17th, and scale back only to Monday through Friday. Ditch riders patrol the canals, inspecting systems and helping to get water to customers.
