Franklin, Oregon Officials Investigate Death, Possible Kidnapping

A deceased person and two missing children are being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and Deputies from Morrow County, OR.

Thursday afternoon, the FCSO says they received a third-party call about a missing female who was possibly deceased near 1st Ave. in Mesa. The 'missing' component was not divulged by the FCSO, but patrols found the female who was dead, and two children were missing from the residence.

Foul play was quickly determined, and the investigation began. Around 11:30 PM Morrow County Deputies located a vehicle near Irrigon, OR that officials said was related to the case. Inside they found a female suspect and the two children were found unharmed. The FCSO says both are under the age of 12.

No other specifics were released except that the suspect will make a court appearance in Oregon, and the children are under the care of Oregon officials.  The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab continues to process the crime scene near Mesa.
