A late-night robbery sends a Kennewick teen to the hospital with gunshot wounds while the Kennewick Police are on the hunt for a suspect in the shooting.

In a press release from the Kennewick Police Department, the incident is described below:

On January 8th, 2021 officers responded to an area hospital for the report of an 18yo male that arrived at the location with multiple, non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to a lower extremity. During an interview with the victim, it was learned that he had made arrangements with a known associate to sell property at a pre-determined location.

The victim reported that the known associate, whom he identified by name, and is known to local Law Enforcement, arrived at the location with a second male who was not known to the victim.

Both suspects, the known associate, and the second male entered the victim's vehicle, allegedly produced firearms, and demanded property from the victim. The victim refused, at which time the known associate allegedly exited the vehicle and fired multiple gunshots at the victim through the open driver door window, striking the victim.

The suspects took property from the victim and fled the scene.

The identity of the known associate, a juvenile male, is known to local Law Enforcement and we have probable cause to arrest him for crimes of Robbery 1st degree and Assault 1st degree.

The identity of the second suspect is not currently known. The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please call us at 628-0333.
