78 year old ‘Tupperware’ Going Bankrupt

"It's a Tupperware Party a Tupperware Party..." Am I imagining this or was there a song that aired on TV or radio about Tupperware when we were kids?

I remember being in awe of the fabulous Tupperware available for storing leftovers.

What food storage containers are your favorite?

When I was a young mom, women in the neighborhood made extra money selling Tupperware door to door. I could never afford it back then, I'm pretty sure I used Cool Whip containers as my food storage!

Nowadays, you can find Glad or Hefty plastic food storage containers at grocery stores or glass-made containers, which are far better for our global plastic waste issue.

It isn't surprising that Tupperware has been struggling financially for years thanks to falling demand and more competition from off-brands sold on sites like Amazon.

 Glass storage containers are safer for our planet.

Still, it's sad when you see something that was a staple for many out of business or go bankrupt after 78 years of being in our everyday lives.

Here's the good news. If you are a fan of Tupperware products, you'll be happy to know, that Tupperware will still be around, the bankruptcy is a debt restructuring program.

The product will still be available but has changed hands and will no longer be American-made.

And, I don't know what says American more than Tupperware! Right? That's like Apple Pie ad Baseball! Okay, maybe not quite but you get the idea.

I believe we will see many products and services left in the dust over the next few years as we evolve into the latest greatest gadgets, toys, and household items released.

Of course, the hope is that we will evolve away from using so much plastic in our everyday lives in hopes of having items that are more easily recycled.
