Should WA State Schools Be Teaching This? Parents Need to Know
Here in the Tri-Cities area, we have fabulous schools and a sufficient education is available for those who want to learn. And no doubt Academia is important. But, what other things are important for kids to learn?
How what we think creates how we feel
I believe it's long overdue that we teach our younger generations how to regulate their emotions better.
Learning how to keep their mental health in check and manage emotions is something we all have to learn and yet it seems no one is teaching it in schools.
Many students report being depressed during their school years
Obviously, this is something that should be taught at home. But wouldn't it be nice if it was also practiced In the education system and made a priority?
Perhaps we'd have less violence in our nation if this was addressed more successfully.
There are plenty of great books and articles that discuss this very subject.
We have a mental health crisis in our nation and while things are improving somewhat with mental health being less of a 'taboo subject' we still have a long way to go.
Teaching kids that how they think and perceive things will ultimately depend on the outcome of their reality is important.
Sure this sounds a bit "woo woo' but, it is really a cause-and-effect situation that holds true. We are all creating our reality daily.
I think when kids learn this new perspective, ultimately it can change the path of their lives for the better.
While cruising Instagram, I ran across this post and found it interesting and worth sharing. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Feel free to send me an app chat using the Key mobile app. I always enjoy hearing from you.

Let's hope that the upcoming generations are learning to be more conscientious of their mental health and regulating their emotions. Maybe we could create more peace in the world if these things were a daily practice.
