Instead of just counting the total number of moves, MovingPlace ranked areas based on moves per capita, showing communities attracting the most new residents relative to their existing population.

Downtown Seattle Zip Codes Top the List for Washington State

In Washington, the results show a mix of bustling city neighborhoods, beach communities, and fast-growing suburbs, but Seattle's downtown ZIP code (98101) ranked number one. It topped the list in Washington with 6.16 moves per capita (person), but that was not the only downtown ZIP code on the list.

The report says downtown Seattle attracts young professionals, remote workers, and people relocating for tech and corporate jobs because of its walkability, public transportation, restaurants, and easy access to Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains. All those factors make downtown Seattle an attractive destination even with a much higher cost of living.

Seattle didn't just claim the top spot; it dominated the rankings with half of the ZIP codes listed in the top 10.

Long Beach and Liberty Lake are Also Growing in Washington State

Coming in second was Long Beach (98631) with 6.06 moves per capita.

MovingPlace says the coastal community's appeal is from the scenic beaches, retirement lifestyle, and a vacation-home market. There are also more than 28 miles of shoreline along Washington's southwest coast, where many people are purchasing second homes.

Liberty Lake (99019) landed in third place with 5.71 moves per capita. This ZIP code is east of Spokane near the Idaho border, and has seen steady growth because of newer neighborhoods, golf courses, and an expanding business and technology presence.
