Starbucks Froths Up Workers, Return to Work Or Get Fired Mandate
Starbucks has amped up its mandate for office-corporate workers to return to in-person working, or else. The company's corporate headquarters are in Seattle.
Starbucks says return to in-office work, or risk losing job
It's been nearly two years since Starbucks mandated that corporate office workers return to their brick-and-mortar work locations at least 3 days each work week, and now the company is showing frustration.
According to KIRO-TV in Seattle, a Starbucks spokesperson this week said by January, corporate office workers could stand to lose their jobs if they insist on working entirely remotely. However, they told KIRO they are not threatening work teams.
According to KIRO:
"... a Starbucks spokesperson said the company will begin cracking down on staff who continue to defy the policy.
Bloomberg reported Monday that starting in January, Starbucks could fire employees who refuse to come to work if they don't follow the company's return to work order."
The company says it's provided a significant transition period, and they now expect workers to return.
Since the end of the pandemic, there has been a sweeping return by many companies in many sectors who are requiring workers to return to their offices and job locations as opposed to remote work.
