According to the Kennewick Police, It took three agencies to track and arrest Murphy.

Here is what the Kennewick Police said about the incident:

Last night a hit and run occurred in Pasco. The victim was struck by a pickup that left the scene. The victim followed the suspect onto the highway and our friends at Washington State Patrol got involved. The vehicle continued into Kennewick and WSP asked for our help.

Pasco Police was sure to let us know about multiple officer safety issues with the suspect male driver. We located the pickup near Hood Avenue and Neel Street. When officers attempted a stop the vehicle, the driver first failed to yield then fled. WSP pursued the vehicle until it was terminated for safety reasons in the area of 10th and Union.

Officers canvassed the area and located the pickup which had wrecked through a fence into a dirt field at 19th and Union Street.

The driver, 47-year-old Christopher Murphy was still with the truck and was taken into custody without further incident.

Murphy was booked by WSP for felony eluding and hit and run. He is being investigated for additional charges.

In an earlier Kennewick Police posting from March 5th, Murphy had been detained and arrested for making a false statement to KPD at the Red Lion Hotel after a disturbance.
