Landslide Evacuation Near Where 43 People Died in 2014
The town of Oso, Washington is once again in the news for landslides but this time officials caught the danger before it actually happened. In 2014, the town of Oso was shocked when 43 people were killed in a surprise landslide that buried part of a neighborhood. Now, the city has announced a small evacuation for a part of the city that is under risk for a land slide according to news reports. Officials have measured a large 4 foot movement in a chunk of land and have now closed off a part of Highway 530 and announced evacuations for a small area.
