Local Child Dies of Influenza

Influenza is deadly every year -- mostly affecting the elderly and young children. But this time a surprising number of adults have succumbed to a nasty strain of the flu.

Now a LOCAL CHILD was the victim in Umatilla.

Last week 3.4% of all emergency room visits in Oregon were due to an influenza-like illness.

129 influenza-related hospitalizations were reported in the Portland Area.
