Local Hero Visits the White House to Help Veterans
Former Pasco resident and advocates for veterans, Tiffany Smiley got an incredible honor: to meet the President of the United States. Tiffany's husband and Pasco native, Scott, had been blinded in a suicide bombing attack in Iraq while he was serving in the Army in 2005. Since the attack, the couple have shared their story on the road to recovery and been advocates for better care for veterans.
Tiffany's hard work and dedication paid off, when she got invited to visit the White House and speak with the President. Though she can't tell us the details of the visit, she was honored and excited to have the opportunity to stand in the oval office and stand up for all veterans. She detailed as much as she could on Facebook, and her post got thousands of views. Thanks for your service, Scott, and thank you both for caring and fighting for those who serve in our armed forces. We're so proud of you!
