Local Thief Drives Through Backyards, Smashes into Police Cruiser
Police in Moses Lake were kept busy last week by a thief who stole a floor jack out of someone's driveway.
Noticing Washington State Patrol in hot pursuit, one officer left the chase guessed its future route, then laid down spike strips. These are super nifty police toys attached to a rope so cops can throw them to one end of a roadway, then pull them in like a fishing reel to make sure they impact the suspect's tires no matter how the driver swerves to avoid them. Then the officer can pull the rope again to remove them for police and troopers following the suspect! (see below)
Anyways, the spike strips worked, but the vehicle kept going and eventually slammed into a police cruiser. No one was injured.
