That's not all that occurred on New Year's Eve.  According to a Tweet from WSP Trooper Chis Thorson, another accident was witnessed by another WSP Trooper...

Right place right time. This morning Trooper Munder witnessed a hit and run collision today while clearing a stop on I182. He was able to track down the running driver who had been drinking and was 2.5X the legal limit! Nice catch Munder!- Trooper Clasen
