2020 is getting downright nasty. We're experiencing a pandemic, deadly fires, and you can add strange criminal antics.

After perusing the Pasco Police Department's Facebook page, I learned that officers were called out to an incident last Thursday evening at Circle K, on 26th and Court.  It was reported that there was:

an angry male waving a machete and making threats. The victim reported that he pulled into the gas station, then the suspect pulled in behind him, screamed at him, swore at him, went to his trunk, pulled out a sheathed machete, unsheathed it, and threatened to kill the victim. The victim got back in his vehicle and called 911. The suspect drove off. An employee confirmed the victim’s account.

Can you imagine being attacked by a man wielding a machete?  This happens in the movies, NOT in real life, talk about a true-to-life nightmare!

The suspect's vehicle information had the owner's information registered to a nearby house.  Police called 37-year old Ricardo Sanchez out of the home.  He complied and was arrested.

Ricardo Sanchez, of Pasco, was booked into Franklin County Jail on investigative holds for Assault Second Degree and Harassment. The motive remains unclear. If it was road rage, the victim was unaware of the cause.

If you have any information about the incident, please contact the Pasco Police Department at 509-628-0333.
