Moses Lake Community College Gets Farming Robot called “FarmBot”
Beg Bend Community College in Moses Lake just received a $3,500 donation from the Center of Excellence for Agriculture to purchase the world’s first open-source CNC (computer numerical control) farming machine called the FarmBot.
Yes, it is a complete automated farming robot that not only can plant seeds & water, but can also test soil content and even detect and destroy weeds.
The College gives the Center of Excellence for Agriculture, in exchange for getting the robot, the reports of data from their studies for a full two years, according to reports.
This new robot will help students at Big Bend CC "get to see it work as an example of what mechatronics can do in the area of agriculture”.
