Mountain Lion Scares Irrigon Man Taking Out the Garbage

A few Kennewick people have been scared by a mountain lion in the last few years, and now an unlucky Irrigon man joins the list.

The poor guy told police he went to take the garbage out onto West Eighth Road just before 7 p.m. when all of a sudden he noticed the cougar sitting on his front lawn about three feet away from him!

He stood, frozen, staring at the animal when all of a sudden they made eye contact and the cat flattened its ears (a sign of fear, aggression and/or irritability).

The man ran inside his house and called police, but animal control did not find it when they followed up.
