West Richland police did not offer much in the way of details, but are reporting an RV that was parked in the lot of the Senior Center was consumed by flames this morning.

Early Monday, police and fire crews responded to the center located at 616 North 60th Avenue for a report of the RV engulfed in fire. The occupant was able to escape safely, but the unit is a total loss.

It's not known why the vehicle was parked there, or how many people were staying inside, but authorities do say it will have to be scrapped. No other details were released. It it not known yet what triggered the blaze.

They do remind people that RV's and campers need smoke detectors and other safety implements, not just homes.
