We can't catch a break. More mountain snow is expected to hit the region soon.  Spring just arrived a couple of days ago, and yet Mother Nature has planned another round of winter weather for the upper elevations in the Cascades and Northern Blue Mountains.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 11 am Wednesday through 5 pm Thursday. A Pacific storm system is expected to bring moderate to heavy snowfall above 3,500 feet in the Washington Cascades to 4,500 feet in the Oregon Cascades, and 4,000 feet in the Northern Blue Mountains.

Total snow accumulations expected are anywhere from 6-10 inches, with the greatest amounts above 4,000 feet. Snow levels could lower to 2,000 feet by late Thursday.

This is perfect if you're a skier. You may want to make arrangements to visit Ski Bluewood Resort. It's been a great snow season for the area.

However, travel could be difficult, as hazardous conditions could impact morning and evening travel. Remember to slow down and exercise caution while driving in the conditions. The areas of Meacham and Tollgate are expected to receive the greatest amount of snowfall. Meacham is expected to receive up to 6 inches, with Tollgate expecting anywhere from 6 to 8 inches of snow.
