Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas may have gotten married just six months ago, but their honeymoon phase is being tainted by the media. During a cover interview for InStyle, the 36-year-old addressed some of the backlash she and her 26-year-old husband have received since saying "I do," with the biggest being that 10 year age gap.

"People gave us a lot of s--t about that and still do," she says about their difference in age. "I find it really amazing when you flip it and the guy is older, no one cares and actually people like it."

Unfortunately, that's not the only criticism the couple has endured. Just months after getting married, The Cut ran an article questioning the legitimacy of their relationship and calling the Quantico actress a "global scam artist." The article was later taken down and the author apologized, but not before Chopra's family and in-laws publicly slammed the piece.

"Nick, Joe, Sophie, my mom, his parents, everyone was there furiously typing on their phones," she recalls. "They were so mad."

Thankfully, the newly wed was not bothered by the slander. "Commenting on some stupidity means it eventually becomes important because I gave it importance," she says. "A lot of people don't understand that way of thinking. It's not a myopic thought ... it's a long-term plan."
