It's going to be a nice and hot weekend in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas but be aware that rising temperatures and wind could cause some unexpected fires.

The National Weather Service has issued a weekend weather fire watch alert that hopefully raises the awareness of fire danger over the weekend. The National Weather Service posted this warning:

High pressure over the region will break down on Saturday as an upper-level trough pushes into the region. This will increase westerly winds Saturday afternoon combining with low relative humidities to possible create a critical fire weather day across the Lower Columbia Basin.

We can expect low humidity and windy conditions on Saturday that could make for perfect conditions for a wildfire to get started.

Temps could reach 95 in the Tri-Cities and winds could reach 25 MPH on Saturday but could taper off on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says the alert is in effect until 10 PM on Saturday night.
