It's a store that has made the list of 'what Tri-Cities needs' for as long as I can remember,  but as of this writing, it's still just a rumor that Trader Joe's is coming to the Columbia Basin.

The ramped up rumor mill this time has the project going in near Road 100 in Pasco. The closest Trader Joe's to the Tri-Cities is in Spokane, where there are two locations, the first opening in 2011.

Well, apparently there is a pretty dedicated group of people pulling for one to be erected in the Tri-Cities, the local facebook page to bring Trader Joe's here has over 8,400 members! Here's another one with about 420 members, dude.

One the threads down the social media rabbit hole had people from TC going to Spokane, where employees at one of the stores said other Trader Joe's employees had mentioned to their colleagues that a store in Tri-Cities might happen within the next calendar year, because after a long time of not being the right fit, it seems our area has grown up to the point where we are big enough to be considered a player. Bring it on.

An enthused Tri-Citian recently gushed, “Every month! Every month I fill out that request to open a store here, on their website,” and you can actually do that you know, just go here.

Trader Joe's officials remain mum about their expansion plans and Rick White with Pasco’s Community and Economic Department was in the dark about any validity to the swirling rumor. “We are usually the last to know,” he said.

One woman pretty much summed up how a lot of people feel when she posted, "I'll believe it when I'm standing in it."
