Seattle Girl Wakes Up After Two Weeks in a Coma
A Seattle girl who was hit by a mini-van and in a coma for two weeks, has woken up! Illa Nichols, 11, was crossing the street when she was hit by a mini-can. Right in front of her elementary school, Camelot Elementary in Auburn, WA, she was struck by a family friend by accident. Apparently, angle of the sun blinded both of them so they could not see each other.
Illa had been in unconscious for 6 days, woke up for a bit once, but could not focus or communicate. After about 8 more days now, Illa is awake and can say her name! She will be moved to the Children's Hospital soon where she will likely stay months rehabilitating. A happy ending (and beginning) of what could have been a tragic story.
