‘Star Wars’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ Fans Don’t Want to Miss This!
What do you get when you add the music from two of the biggest book and movie epic series together in one night of musical madness? Pure magic! The Mid-Columbia Mastersingers (including the Boys' Choir) and Mid-Columbia Symphony have teamed up to bring the incredible music of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings (LOTR) together one amazing event! The event is called the 'Circle of Fifths' and includes music from Star Wars, LOTR, and Wagner (you'll probably recognize this famous song. Bet you didn't realize it had words! ;) ).
This is a huge production featuring 125 total singers onstage with a 70 piece symphony orchestra! Artistic Director for the Mastersingers, Justin Raffa is very enthusiastic about the event. "The opportunity to hear live music performed from the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings motion pictures is a rare occurrence in our community," says Raffa. "Because of the familiarity of the music, this is a great first concert for people to be introduced to the power of live classical symphonic music. Nothing about this concert will be stuffy, boring, or too complicated to enjoy."
There will be two performances 7:30 pm on May 20th and 3 pm on May 21st at the Richland High School Auditorium. Tickets are available now and start at $15 for students and $27 for general adult seating.
Also, to get ready for the event, they've arranged for special screenings of the Lord of the Rings films at Fairchild Cinemas in Richland. You need to click here to buy tickets to the screenings and use the code "LOTR" before clicking to buy. Definitely a MUST be at event for fans of either franchise, or people who just love music!
