Top 5 Things NOT to Do at Your Holiday Office Party
The holiday season is a great time of year to celebrate with family, friends and co-workers! But it's also a time where things can get out of hand. Arguments with family, fall outs with friends, and office party shenanigans. To help guide you though your office party without becoming the story talked about all year long, here are some helpful tips!
- 1
Dress Appropriately
Sure you look great in that super low-cut mini dress, or that naked Santa holiday sweater, but come on! Don't wear that stuff to your work party. You never know who may show up, and if some higher-ups see you in less-than-appropriate gear, you may have some negative consequences. Even if your office is tight-knit, make sure you dress well, and keep the crazy stuff for your friends and/or family.
- 2
Don't Drink Too Much
This may seem like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised. You know EVERY YEAR some idiot over does it. Don't be that guy or gal. Just don't. Enough said.
- 3
Bring the Right Date
As important as how you present yourself, whomever you bring also represents you. Bringing someone you don't know very well, or who you know won't behave well is a bad idea. Also, a first date (this actually happened at a party I went to) is a terrible idea! Bring someone you're comfortable with who you know will be a positive addition to the festivities.

TAXI!
If you will be drinking, make sure you don't over do it, but also make sure you get home safely. Even if you've had one or two adult beverages, it's always good to have a safe way to get home. Taxi, Uber, or designated drivers are a must for holiday parties of any kind, but especially for work parties. And for real, DON'T drive the company vehicle after drinking. EVER!

Sneaky Smooches
Office romances can be exciting yes, but have serious consequences. Even if for a night (especially for a night) don't let your office romance become known by trying to make out in sneaky places. I've seen it, and I'm sure you have too! Even holding hands can cause a stir. Keep the romance to appropriate levels and if you've started something serious, don't show it off until the bosses know what's up. And making out in a coat closet? Come on, so cliche!!
