Narcan or Naloxone is a medication used to rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. It seems the Tri-Cities area doesn't have any shortage of overdose reports.

According to data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health an estimated 808-thousand people had used heroin in 2017. The same year, 10.3-million people 12-years and older misused opioids. Most were prescription pain relievers.
Often times, people become addicted to pain medications.  In 2018, approximately 67-thousand Americans died as a result of opioid use.

People who use by injection are also at risk for contracting Hepatitis B and C, as well as HIV.

The centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports an average of 184 Americans die every day from opioid overdose.

There are more resources for assistance. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is a national organization to aid behavioral health.
