D.C. Wants Statehood… And to STEAL OUR NAME!

Washington D.C. has always been confusing. It's not a state. Nope, D.C. is it's own thing (a district, actually, named Columbia).

I used to live in Iowa, and I'd often visit family in Tri-Cities. I'd tell my friends I was going to "Washington," and they'd always ask if I was going to "D.C. or Washington State."

Well, now District of Columbia wants to be a state, too. Can't blame them, it's pretty confusing to try and tell your kids just how Washington D.C. exists.

The only problem? They want to be the State of Washington, D.C.

I can think of 7 million people off the top of my head that wouldn't like that name.
