I read an article recently on the worst States to drive in. And amazingly Washington is in the bottom 10. Why in the world would this be? We in the Tri-Cities like our 20 minute commute. Because if you've ever lived in Chicago, or Philadelphia, or San Francisco or Detroit like I have, then you know 20 minutes will get you just about anywhere you need to go in the Tri-Cities area. Yes we have our backups and we have our drive times, but they're nothing like the big cities. So why in the world would Washington be in the bottom 10? I'll tell you why, and you probably already know the answer. Seattle.  I have relatives scattered from Vancouver to Tacoma and the Seattle area and up through Spokane and Couer d'Alene. Guess who gets visited the most? Yep, Spokane and Coeur d'Alene relatives! Driving to Seattle is beautiful. But once you get there, the nightmare begins. I can't tell you how many times my wife and I have talked about going to Seattle to go shopping or grab some fresh seafood, and then we end up going on a day trip to Rainier or something instead. So thanks a lot Westside for another poor ranking lol. The more they talk about splitting Washington in half and making 2 separate States, the more I like the idea! Because there is so much to see in Eastern Washington and the driving just isn't bad. Have you ever driven up Weber Canyon Rd. from Benton City all the way to Horse Heaven Hills or Bickelton? So relaxing!
