West Richland Golf Course in Big Trouble

The city of West Richland is in a fight with the owner of the West Richland Municipal Golf Course and it doesn't look pretty.

The city says the owner, Michelle Marcum, has missed seven payments and filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy to avoid the last payment. She apparently owes $1.9 million.

She has run the golf course since 1989 and has survived numerous problems including flooding and a fire.

She personally owes about $60,000 for rebuilding after the fire. 

The payments to the city are owed from the golf course, which is why she's able to file bankruptcy and continue operating.

When the city decided to privatize the golf course Marcum agreed to a kind of "rent to own" situation. But she hasn't made the payments.

The golf course is a gem for the community so we hope it all works out!
