You Won’t Believe How Dungeness Crab Got Its Name
Dungeness crab has been one of my favorite foods my whole life. Most of those years, I chose it as my special birthday dinner. I have been able to shuck a whole crab in no time flat since I was about 6 but I still didn;t know that dungeness crab got its name from a bay in Washington State.
It turns out that my favorite food is named from the Port of Dungeness where the crabs where first caught and commercially fished. I guess it was just ingrained in my genes all along.
