3 Year Old Dead After Head-On Collision Near Boardman

For unknown reasons, a 23-year-old man driving a Subaru west on I-84 crossed the freeway median last night near Boardman and struck a Chrysler 200.

The driver died at the scene. The Chrysler driver, a 44-year-old woman from Burbank, was taken by ambulance to the Pendleton hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Burbank woman had her 3-year-old niece in the car and she died in the crash.

Eastbound lanes were closed for about five hours following the accident (most of the night).
