9 Best Movies for St. Patrick’s Day
Can't travel to Ireland this St. Patrick's Day? Not excited about green beer or shots of Irish whiskey? If you're planning on spending your St. Patrick's Day at home cuddled up on the couch, that's a valid life choice. These films are filmed in Ireland, about Ireland, or have an Irish theme of some kind. Some are fantastic movies and others are fantastically bad (you'll know what I mean). So, get some snacks, fire up the Netflix, Hulu, Vudu or Amazon and celebrate Irish goodness without leaving your couch. And hey, you can still have green beer and shots, just you know, without having to get out of your jammies.

Boondock Saints
If you haven't seen this-- WATCH IT!! Like NOW! And yes, that is Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead. :)
- 2
Darby O'Gill and the Little People
Great one for the whole family!! If you didn't see this as a kid, your childhood wasn't complete. Okay, I won't go that far, but it's fun and strange. Re-live it or watch for the first time. The kids will love it too!

Circle of Friends
Minnie Driver's first big film is a sweet coming of age tale about 3 friends in 1950's Ireland. It's set mainly in Dublin, but you'll get to see the green of the Irish countryside as well. It's sweet, you'll cry a bit, but Chris O'Donnell's cuteness will dry your tears.

P.S. I Love You
Get out the box of tissues for this chick flick. Seriously, you'll cry most of the movie. However, it's sweet and will have you smiling by the end. Great footage of Ireland. It will make you want to go.

The Boxer
One of Daniel Day-Lewis' best movies. It's the most serious movie on the list, so don't watch if you're just in the mood for fun, but it's a must-see.

The Secret of Roan Inish
Another great one for the whole family. Beautiful little film.
- 7
The Quiet Man
I have to admit I haven't seen this movie, but it comes highly recommended. It's on my list for sure!

Leap Year
If you're looking for a cheesy rom com, this is for you. It's cute, and Amy Adams is neurotically charming, and Matthew Goode is delicious eye candy. Good one to watch for a girl's night or date night (if your man can handle lady films). ;)

Leprechaun
Yes, we went there. Terrible movie, but sometimes good is bad, right?
