Bold Burglar Has Car Impounded by West Richland Cops

West Richland Police are searching for leads on this suspect, as well as his vehicle, after he allegedly tried to break into the city maintenance shops yard on Saturday.

Officers say, someone, likely this suspect, cut the padlock to the main gate, entered the facility, then tried to pry open one of the garage doors on a maintenance building.

Fortunately, the suspect fled without getting any items when an alarm went off, which brought Officers to the scene.

However, he did cause significant damage to the door. West Richland Police released this statement about the suspect's vehicle:

"Our city compound has numerous cameras, which should come as a surprise to no one. The burglar did an adequate job of hiding their face but could not have picked a vehicle that was any less stealthy. When I say there aren’t many mid 90’s, black Jeep Cherokees with a gold stripe, no front license plate, lifted with no running boards, a rooftop luggage rack holding a spare tire and a flag whip attached to the back bumper….. I mean there’s literally only one."

Ironically, WRPD was able to locate the vehicle and impound it, but the driver was nowhere to be found. The cops have his car, now just need to find him. It will only be a matter of time...!
