After the huge success from the first Popeyes Chicken grand opening in Kennewick, there are 3 more planned locations coming soon to the area! To find out where, I sat down with Kennewick General Manager Jacob Ayala to talk about their plans for the new locations in Tri-Cities.

"We are opening up a Pasco location, that one we hope to shoot for December." Jacob went on to say it would be "on road 68 by the Grocery Outlet and Wendys." After setting a record for sales with their grand opening last week, Tri-Cities could use more locations to give relief to its chicken fans.

Popeyes plan doesn't stop with the new Pasco location. There are a total of 3 more Popeyes stores planned to open in the area within a years time.  I asked when the other locations would open. Jacob said it could be "a couple months after," the second store opens. "It is kind of a toss up right now which is going to come first, the Richland location out on Dupertail on Queensgate or the Hermiston location" he said.

Jacob went on to say "I think they are hoping for February for the first one, and then another two months after that will be the last location." Those are not the only stores coming soon in the area. Jacob said " yeah, they are shooting for Spokane, They are going crazy with the new amount of openings in the area."

Before I left, I asked Jacob what the most popular item on his menu was. He said " by far the Chicken Sandwich", "and that is the most popular item on Popeyes menu in general." When asked exactly how popular the Chicken Sandwich was Jacob said " on the first day we sold way over one thousand sandwiches." He said the Chicken Sandwich "makes up about 65% or (their) sales."

Jacob said the Family meals are also selling really well. "The thing with these Grand Openings is" "people want to try everything." They have a wide range of food choices for your whole family from bone in chicken to their delicious apple pies.

After my interview I bought one of their famous Chicken Sandwiches and a frozen lemonade. The sandwich was delicious and the lemonade was just how I like it, sour! Later that night my family and I went back and sampled a large part of their menu. I really like how their chicken was not greasy and the outside was nice an crispy. My family is now addicted to their biscuits, beans and rice, and the crazy good apple pie. Watch out, you are going to want to go back soon if you go!
