Look, no one set out to make our current "AI" a comedian, but it's done a great job at it anyway. From a warped sense of realism to hallucinations, asking an AI chatbot to do something can sometimes go, well, a little astray.

The latest social media trend, though, is asking ChatGPT to roast your local area like a comedian. See below for an example far from home.

So of course, what's good for North Virginia is good for us in Washington, right? I popped open ChatGPT and asked it to roast Tri-Cities. I mean, how bad could the results be?

Well - I'll let you see and judge for yourself.

ChatGPT Roasts Tri-Cities, Washington

Lately a trend has been going around social media, where people ask ChatGPT to "roast" their hometown - with both funny and cringe-worthy results. Here's what the chatbot had to say about Tri-Cities in Washington State.

Honestly, ChatGPT gets a lot funnier when it tackles bigger areas like Seattle:

You all really took 'seasonal affective disorder' as a design aesthetic, didn't you? Everything is either a shade of gray or black, like color was too mainstream for you. 'No, thanks, we'll just stick to the palette of a dystopian novel.

Like any good comedian, ChatGPT did give (with a little prompting) a positive close to its stand-up roast of Tri-Cities:

But hey, despite all that, I gotta hand it to Tri-Cities—you've mastered the art of making "the middle of nowhere" feel like home. Where else can you find so much charm in so little space? Cheers to being perfectly imperfect!

Damn straight, ChatGPT. We'll keep being Tri-Cities proud out here, at least until a real comedian roasts us and makes us feel ashamed.

Instead, let's have a laugh at ChatGPT roasting our neighbors to the east. It's so much easier than laughing at ourselves.

The Epic AI Roast of Idaho

We asked AI on ChatGPT to roast the state of Idaho with different levels of meanness and a focus on different aspects of the state. Here's what we got.
