Kennewick Police confirm they were called out on a report of a cougar sighting.

The call came in just after 9:30 pm on Friday. Police responded to the 200 block of West 9th Place in Kennewick. The residence is just East of Zintel Canyon. Neighbors say they saw the cougar jump into a pool. Officers found cougar prints in the dirt. Officers notified the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout.

There have been a couple of cougar sightings dating back to latter March. If you see a cougar in your area, you're advised to call non-dispatch at 509-628-0333.
