Grandview Woman Owns 250 Barbie Dolls!

Heidi Van Boven has been collecting dolls since her childhood... when she watched her grandmother collect dolls. Heidi's favorite, like many girls, are Barbie dolls.

She has 250 of them in a room dedicated to her extensive collection (including more than just Barbies, which take up one wall). An entire closet is filled with clothes, dresses, costumes and accessories. She even has some of Barbie's animal friends and drawers full of Barbie's shoes, jewelry and bags.

She went "pro" with her collecting in 2005, seeking to make it a financial investment.

You can see the Barbie collection this month at the Sunnyside Museum at 406 Grant Avenue.
