Kennewick Police have identified the victim of a Thursday shooting.

After careful consideration and cooperation with the victim's family, Police have decided to publically identify the teen who died after he was shot. The shooting took place in the 2100 block of North Rhode Island Court at about 5:15 pm. Upon arrival, witnesses told Police they saw several men running from the scene.

Police found 17-year-old Ricardo Rivera with a gunshot wound. They treated him until Kennewick firefighters arrived at the scene.

Rivera was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police continue to search for the suspects involved.

Rivera's family has set up a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.

Ricardo passed after a tragic incident. Ricardo was loved by many and had many dreams to still accomplish in his young life. We ask for donations, for they will all go to funeral expenses. Anything helps, and we thank you all in advance. Ricardo is now in a much better place and will be protecting, and looking over us from above.
