Police Seek Mystery Shooter, Find Shell Casings in Road

Police listed the 1200 block  of North Morain, but likely Morain Loop--Morain doesn't have a 1200 block.

Around 1AM officers were called to the area just south of Canal, about a quarter mile north of Hawthorne Elementary, for a report of multiple shots fired.

When police arrived they were unable to find any injured persons or damage to any buildings or vehicles, but they did find multiple shell casings in the road.

There have been a recent rash of similar incidents, officers believe someone may have been firing off rounds up into the sky--which is still illegal inside city limits.

The investigation continues.
