Coming Friday, June 24th, the renovated Columbia Birth Center is holding an open house, where the public can come see its newly completed renovations.

The Birth Center event will be from 3 PM to 8 PM

The center, located at 948 Stevens Drive in Richland, is just around the corner and across the street from the Kadlec Regional Medical Center, perhaps 100 feet.

The center has relocated into a new facility, after operating for a number of years in Kennewick. It closed 15 years ago but has re-opened, featuring a wide variety of maternity and birth, and health services. The medical staff all remain the same as those who ran it in Kennewick. Work on the new location was started in 2021, and was recently finished.

It has three private birthing suites with a number of amenities, but perhaps one the most attention-grabbing is that each suite has its own jacuzzi.

According to their website, since 1998, the center has served over 200 families from around the region.

The open house will allow the public, as well as perspective mothers-to-be, to look at all the renovations and features offered for what is considered 'private' birth. Its proximity to Kadlec, says the website, also adds a level of additional medical care if needed.
