As of 11:11 AM a multitude of law enforcement officers headed to Hanford on a report of shots fired.

BCSO says "report" of shots fired, Reportedly at Washington River Protection Solutions Building

The Benton County Sheriff's office is responding as are other LE agencies. Reports indicate messages being sent digitally to workers in, and in the area of, the 200 East Area and the 2750E Building, which is used by WRPS.

According to unconfirmed reports, workers in the area were told:

"Affected employees prepare to run, hide, fight. Employees in nearby buildings are to lockdown and prepare to run, hide, fight. All others stay away.”

The 200 East Area is on lockdown, we do know for sure.  We do have a source who works in that area, they informed us they are on lockdown and are awaiting "patrol," likely meaning Hanford Patrol or others to secure their area.

The Tri-City Herald and other information say initial REPORTS were of an armed assailant, but that has not been officially confirmed. Hanford officials have NOT confirmed if any shots were fired.

We will pass on more information as it is confirmed.
