Did you know that the Tri-Cities has its own incredible Shakespeare company!? When I first heard about them I had to look em up. The Rude Mechanicals, named for a theater group inside the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream, is Eastern Washington's premier Shakespeare company who believes "Shakespeare should be funny, exciting, sexy, crude, violent, and most of all entertaining." As I like to say, Shakespeare for the people. I took a shot after being out of theater for YEARS and auditioned for their upcoming production of Julius Caesar. I got a part (yay) and have been working my booty off to perform at the same level as these incredible actors.

One thing about Julius Caesar is that there is violence. Well, A LOT of violence. Directors Ellicia Elliot and Emily Richman took a lot of care making sure that we took out time learning to fight, without killing each other! Guided by Anna Newbury, we learned how to portray fighting, stabbing, and suicide, without hurting one another. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at some of the training! To see the polished action, and the full show (filled with conspiracy, omens, betrayal, and victory) go to www.rmtheatre.org and get your tickets to the show.

Opening night is Jan 19, 2017 (VIP reception to follow! And if you want more in-depth information about the production get the Backstage Pass tickets for a discussion with the directors! Hope to see you there! Huzzah!!
