Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and it means more than just another day off school, or banks closing. Around the Tri-Cities area, there are events going on to celebrate the life and dream of Dr. King. Below are a list of ways you can honor this great American leader.
Winter Clothing Drive - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2017 Service Project
The Ladies of Psi Nu Omega (PNO) Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA). The drive is going all month long.

First United Methodist Church Community Gathering- noon to 2 p.m.  191 E. Gladys Ave., Hermiston. Coordinated by the Black International Awareness Club, the program includes a community walk, special speakers and music.

“The Color of Freedom” Community Event- Walla Walla Uiversity-  January 16th, at 11:00 a.m. in the WWU Church, 212 SW 4th St., College Place.

Dr. Martin Luther King 10th Annual Celebration- The African American Community Cultural & Educational Society (AACCES) dinner will feature guest speakers and entertainment. Red Lion Hotel, 802 George Washington Way in Richland
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
