I can't believe it's taken me nearly 20 years to get myself a selfie at the infamous Yakima Palm Springs of Washington billboard sign, but I finally did it! It only took Davis High School and Eastern Washington University alum, and now the LOS ANGELES RAMS wide receiver, Cooper Kupp, to get my bum over there!

I coerced my co-worker, Ryder, to come with me to take his own selfie at the iconic Yakima billboard because he is new to Yakima and when in Yakima/when in Rome...

I had to grab my GPS to figure out how to actually drive over to the Palm Springs of Washington sign. Apparently, it is right beside the Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities complex. The easiest way I can explain it is to hop on I-82 and get off at the N 1st St exit and then hang a left at East R Street, right past the Owens Cycle building. If you're coming thru town, just go down North 1st Street past the old Gasperetti's Restaurant building like you're heading into the city of Selah, and then turn right on East R Street.

This is Ryder, SAY HELLO to my new friend and co-worker! He is hella cool!!

Once you've come to the stop sign in front of Coca-Cola, turn LEFT! Keep on driving until you come into the small cul-de-sac where you'll find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow: the infamous sign that I love so much! It was the first thing I noticed when I moved to Yakima in 2002. I'm ashamed to say that I thought this sign meant that I would see actual PALM TREES in the city. Wow, was I ever a naive little daughter-of-a-gun!

By the way, it is so important for me to give a big shout-out to Cooper's parents, Karin and Craig, and another humongous shout-out to Cooper's wife, Anna Kupp, a Richland, WA native!! She is a true "ride or die chick", as the kids say! ;-)
