Get Ready, Multiple Forecasts Predict a White Tri-Cities Christmas
I asked on Facebook what YOU wanted for Christmas and the overwhelmingly most common answer was to have a white Christmas in Tri-Cities. Now it looks like that wish is a real possibility!
Multiple forecasts I checked have snow possible anytime Friday through Wednesday. The most likely days for snow are Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday but still a chance on all the days within the window. This forecast is from the National Weather Service:
Friday
Chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. North wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday Night
A 20 percent chance of snow before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Sunday
A slight chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 28.
Sunday Night
A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Christmas Day
A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30.
Monday Night
A chance of rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20.
Tuesday
A slight chance of snow and freezing rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32.
Tuesday Night
A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.
Wednesday
A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.
The other fact that is important to having a white Christmas is that the temperature will be below freezing the whole time. Meaning that if we get snow anytime, it will be likely stick around at least through Christmas!
